St Edmund Arrowsmith High School Hosts Successful STEM and Wider Careers Networking Event
St Edmund Arrowsmith High School recently welcomed 40 businesses as part of its annual Careers Week, delivering an inspiring STEM and Wider Careers Networking Event for Year 8 and Year 9 students.
The event provided a valuable opportunity for students to engage directly with professionals from a wide range of industries, helping them to explore potential career pathways and better understand the skills required in today’s workplace. Representatives from sectors including engineering, healthcare, digital technology, construction, finance, and public services took part, offering insights into their roles and career journeys.
Throughout the day, students rotated between exhibitors, asking questions, taking part in interactive activities, and gaining first-hand knowledge about different professions. The event aimed to broaden horizons, challenge stereotypes, and encourage students to consider both STEM-related careers and wider employment opportunities.
Staff praised the enthusiasm and maturity shown by students, who engaged confidently with employers and demonstrated a genuine interest in their futures. Employers also commented on the positive attitude of students and the importance of events like this in bridging the gap between education and industry.
The Careers Week initiative continues to play a vital role in preparing students for life beyond school, equipping them with the knowledge, confidence, and ambition to succeed in their chosen paths.
St Edmund Arrowsmith High School extends its sincere thanks to all participating businesses for their time and support in making the event such a success.
