Online Transition talks  Tuesday 22nd June, Wednesday 23rd June and Thursday 24th June

Within these talks, applicants will be able to discover more about the subjects they wish to study at St John Rigby College. There will be an opportunity to meet teachers online and gain answers to any questions or concerns they may have about their future career plans.  On each of these days there will be two sessions per subject, one at 2:30pm and one at 3:00pm.  Applicants will have the opportunity to attend up to six sessions over the three days. All applicants will be e-mailed with details of how to sign up and log into these events.

New Students’ Day – Monday 28th June

All applicants are invited to attend college for a full day college experience. Applicants select and experience three subjects of their choice and will have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with our campus and our facilities.

Pre-enrolment 2021 – Wednesday 30th June

In previous years applicants and their parents/ carers would have multiple opportunities to visit the college and discuss course options with subject specialists.  Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions these important meetings have not occurred.  During pre-enrolment, each applicant will be scheduled an individual appointment time when they and their parents/ carers will be able to visit the college.

At this appointment we will provide further details about course options and the outstanding support available to students studying at St John Rigby College. Your pupils will be able to firm up their subject choices for September and have any of their queries answered.

Bridging Materials

Bridging Materials for all our level 3 subjects are available on the college website. These provide applicants with some activities which can be completed over the summer term and/or in the summer break in readiness for studying that subject in September. These materials are found by selecting “Pre-course Materials” from each subject webpage. The list of subjects available can be found using the following link https://sjr.ac.uk/courses/

Enrolment 2021 – Thursday 12th August and Friday 13th August

We have sufficient staff volunteers in every one of our subjects to be able to offer face-to-face subject specific advice and enrolment appointments at the time at which your students will receive their GCSE results. Some students may be able to “fast track” their enrolment if their plans are unchanged from their pre-enrolment meeting and their grades meet the relevant entry requirements. It is our hope that students will be able to provide us with electronic results slips on Thursday 12th August to simplify this process or to bring in a hard copy of their results at this time.
