On arrival at school, could I please ask parents to wait on the car park and we will direct your son or daughter where to go to collect their results.

If your son or daughter is unable to collect their results on the day, please ask them to email exams@arrowsmith.wigan.sch.uk  from their private account with their preferred method of collection, as detailed below:-

  • A responsible adult will come to collect them on my behalf (please name the person who will be collecting in your email, they will also need to bring proof of ID).
  • I will collect my results on a different day.

Once you have received your results

If you require advice relating to your results after your subject grade has been issued, teaching staff will be available to talk to on results day.  If you are unhappy with your result, in the first instance you must email results@arrowsmith.wigan.sch.uk stating the exam board, Subject, component and a detailed explanation of the issue. If you wish to appeal, we will then send you a consent form that you must complete and sign. This form tells school and the exam boards that you have understood what the outcome might be, see below.

There are three possible outcomes of the appeals process that you need to be aware of before you appeal:

  1. Your original mark is lowered, your final grade may be lower than the original grade you received.
  2. Your original mark is confirmed as correct, there is no change to your grade.
  3. Your original mark is raised, your final grade may be higher than the original grade you received.

The Review of Marking that the exam board action will require a fee paid by you to school (see fee table below). Once the fee is received and the candidate consent form is returned, we will then make the appeal on your behalf.

Review of Marking consists of a clerical re-check and a second examiner will review the paper again to make sure that the mark scheme has been applied correctly.

The deadline for appeal requests will be Thursday 22nd September 2022, it can take up to 20 calendar days for exam boards to process your appeal.

If you have been accepted onto the desired course at your further education provider, then I would think very carefully and consider the possible outcomes before you appeal your grade.
