Year 8 Pupils Rise to the Challenge at Maths Roadshow

Year 8 pupils at St Edmund Arrowsmith recently took part in an exciting Maths Roadshow, where they were challenged to tackle a range of engaging and thought-provoking mathematical problems.
The event brought a fresh and dynamic approach to learning, encouraging pupils to think creatively, work collaboratively, and apply their mathematical skills in new and unfamiliar contexts. From logic puzzles to real-world problem-solving tasks, the Roadshow inspired enthusiasm and determination among all who took part.
Pupils demonstrated excellent resilience as they worked through complex challenges, supporting one another and developing their confidence along the way. The event not only tested their mathematical ability but also highlighted the importance of teamwork and perseverance.
Head of Maths, Mr Burgess, praised the pupils for their efforts and positive attitude:
"It was fantastic to see our Year 8 pupils so engaged and willing to take on challenging problems. Events like the Maths Roadshow help bring the subject to life and show that maths is about much more than numbers ; it’s about thinking, reasoning, and problem-solving. I’m incredibly proud of how our pupils approached every task with enthusiasm and determination."
The Maths Roadshow was a great success, leaving pupils inspired and motivated to continue developing their skills.
