Hope Acro's SEA girls were competing at the North West Prelims at the weekend at Robin Park in Wigan. The event is the qualifier for the British NDP Finals in Stoke-on-Trent in May. The champions in each grade from each of the 13 regions of the UK go forward to compete at the national finals and the North West will be strongly represented by girls from the school.

Hattie Lloyd (Y10) won gold with a score of 25.100 in the Aspire Women's Group category with her partners Alice and Alexa and secured their place in the finals. It was an incredibly competitive category with the top six separated by only 0.200. In the same grade, Jessica Bithell (Y10) came 3rd with her partners Fliss and Mollie for a well-deserved bronze and were only 0.100 away from the winners

With their partner Olivia, Isla Cook and Emma Green (both Y11) took to the floor as favourites in the Grade 4 Women's Group category after impressive victories at Spelthorne and Leeds in recent weeks. The pressure didn't faze them as their faultless performance gave them a convincing victory with another huge score of 27.050. Lola Sitko (Y9) also performed brilliantly in the same category with partners Lois and Zlata. Their fantastic score of 26.00 saw them just miss out on the medals in 4th place.

In the always competitive and high-scoring Grade 3 Women's Group, Libby Williams and Eva Barron (Both Y8), with their partner Olivia, showed their great potential. A beautifully executed routine saw them score 26.250 for a highly creditable 5th placed finish.

Hattie's trio, and Emma and Isla's, will now compete in Stoke on the 16/17th May at the Fenton Manor Sports Complex for the chance to become national champions. Before that, Isla, Emma, Hattie, Eva, Lola and Jessica head to the same venue on the 2nd/3rd May to compete for St. Edmund Arrowsmith in the British Schools Under 16s Final.

We wish all the competitors from Hope Acro all the very best success - your dedication and determination to succeed in your chosen sport is inspirational!
