Congratulations to Year 8 students Eloise Powell, Eva Barron, Ruby Addison and Emma Staneviciute, who were named North West winners in the CyberFirst Girls competition, an event that saw more than 11,000 students from across the UK take part.
What an incredible achievement! The students travelled to Glasgow over the weekend with Head of Computing Miss Lee and Miss Walsh to attend the gala dinner and awards ceremony, where they proudly collected their trophy, certificates and prizes. It was a fantastic experience and a wonderful way to celebrate all the hard work they put into the competition.
The girls represented the school brilliantly and stood out as the only team to personally thank all of the organisers, from government representatives to the supporting technology companies.
With International Women’s Day taking place yesterday, it feels particularly fitting to recognise such a talented group of young women who are already showing a strong interest in cyber security and STEM.
