This weekend, Summer competed in the U18’s British Championships in Nottingham. Having o
nly turned 14 this week, she rose to the challenge and won Bronze after sustaining an injury but she was adamant she wanted to continue.
This made it Summer’s 5th British Championships medal in the last 2 years! She has previously won the U15s British Championships, the National teams competition for the North West and the British Schools Championships earlier this year. She has also won many more titles including the English open and English closed.
Summer’s last 12 months has included competing internationally 3 times: placing 2nd in France, 3rd in Poland and 3rd in the Netherlands, as well as attending international and national training camps where she has made friends from around the world.
Summer has been lucky enough to receive funding from the Wigan Believe Talent fund to support her journey of which she is very grateful.
Our school community would like to wish Summer continued success in a sport that she clearly loves and excels in. She has a natural talent and a capacity to compete at a high level. This will provide Summer with skills for life!
We are all very proud of your achievements and know that there is even more success to come in the future for you!
