Congratulations to SEA student Louisa Blinston (Y8) who took part in a dance championship last weekend.

Louisa achieved an incredible trio of awards, taking home Junior Mascot of the Year, Higher Supreme Mascot (one of the most prestigious titles), and Champion Mascot 2025. Their troupe, Ashton Morris Dancers, also celebrated major success, winning Junior Troupe of the Year and Junior Champions 2025. 

Three more SEA students, Louisa's sister, Emelia (Y9), Jessica Bithell (Y10) and Ella Jones (Y10), are also proud members of the Ashton Morris Dancers, who train weekly at Captains Lane every Thursday. The team competes regularly throughout the year against others in their age groups.

Louisa began her dance journey at just 2 years old, first dancing with Wigan Royals and later with Platt Bridge Morris Dancers.  Her sister, Emelia joined the troupe about 2 years ago and is really enjoying the training and competitions.  

A huge well done to Louisa on this fantastic achievement in a sport she clearly loves. We also wish all the girls continued success and joy as they pursue their passion for Morris dancing.
