Former pupil Daniel Atherton has signed a professional contract with Liverpool FC. For the past two and a half years, Daniel has been performing extremely well with the youth team at Liverpool and last week agreed a professional contract with the club.

He is highly motivated to work his way through the system to secure that number 1 jersey in the first team. With Liverpool flying high in the Premier League, it's a great time to be at the club and hopefully he will be part of the future successes of Liverpool FC.

When we spoke this morning over a cup of tea in my office, Daniel commented, 'My hard work starts now and I have to keep working hard to get to the next level and beyond, so that my career keeps progressing.'

Daniel was such a bubbly character when he was a pupil with us and he is still a real character today! I am absolutely delighted to see him doing so well in his football career, and more importantly to see that he has developed into a lovely, well mannered, respectful and courteous young man with great values. The whole school community wishes him every success in the future.
