GCSE drama is a subject you can choose as an option in Year 10 and 11.
GCSE drama is all about creating, performing and understanding drama.
The course is in three parts:
1) In part one of the course you will work as part of a group to create your own devised drama. You will show your work to the teacher and produce a portfolio to show how you developed your own devised drama. This is worth 40% of your GCSE in drama.
2) In part two of the course you will present a showcase of two extracts from an existing script to a visiting examiner. This is worth 20% of your GCSE in drama.
3) In part three of the course you will sit a written exam answering questions on a set play text and a live theatre production. This is worth 40% of your GCSE in drama.
Homework will be given on a weekly basis. This will be mainly in the form of a practical journal where you evaluate your work in class. Other homework tasks might be research based or the learning of lines for a performance.
