Tuesday 8th May 2018
I hope everyone enjoyed their Bank Holiday weekend, it was glorious weather for once and we all had the chance to enjoy the sun! I did feel a little sorry for our Y11 pupils who were putting in the final revision efforts before the written GCSE papers begin. There have been really outstanding efforts this week that I would like to share with you.
Mr Webster sent me a piece of code that creates a cash machine effect within a website and it is simply stunning! Liam (Y9) has obviously worked incredibly hard on this and both Mr Webster and I would like to congratulate him on his efforts, well done Liam, keep up the fantastic work!
Historians of the Week this week are for Mrs Cole, Molly in 8A for showing tremendous commitment in her history studies. For Mr Linton, it is Isobel in 8G for an excellent answer in her slavery source assessment and for Mrs Easton, it is Ella in 8O for consistently working hard in history and for a recent strong performance in her American Civil War factual test.
Mr Reardon told me that Y9 have been working very hard this week accumulating over 350 achievement points. It was a good week for the girls with Aoife, Caitlin, Lily and Katie occupying our top spots having achieved a combined 44 points. Well done girls! I was also very impressed with Mathew (9L) this week as he volunteered himself last minute to read in another form's assembly when someone else couldn't make it due to a late bus. What a great attitude!
Mrs Outterside told me that the final nominations for year 11 pupils have been flooding in!
Thank you to all staff for their nominations and congratulations to all pupils who are working exceptionally hard in the preparation for the written GCSE examinations which begin on Monday 14th May.
